The cooperation between the Information service of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Si&Si Company, which began on Easter this year with very successful campaign “LET’S BREATHE LIFE INTO SERBIA”, continues with a new project directed towards elementary school students.
Namely, on the occasion of the jubilee 50th International Book Fair, Si&Si Group and the Orthodox children’s magazine “The Saint Sava Day’s School Bell” will donate exceptionally valuable sets of books of catechism and religiously instructive contents to students, that is to say to elementary school libraries in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, Vrsac, Sabac, Krusevac, Novi Pazar, Nis and Podgorica.
This joint campaign of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Si&Si Group, began with an appropriate ceremony which was held on Saturday, October 29th, 2005, at the book stand of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Hall no.1 of the Belgrade Fair, when Mr Vojin Djordjevic, president of the Si&Si Group, and His Holiness the Jegar Bishop Mr Porfirije, PhD, in the name of the Informative service of the Serbian Orthodox Church, presented Ms Vesna Zivoinovic, the principal, and the students of the elementary school “Zmaj Jova Jovanovic” from Belgrade with the first set of books. The other nine schools will get their free sets of books immediately after the 50th International Book Fair. During this appropriate ceremony, donators made the decision to include two school from the region of Kosovo and Metohija in the group of schools which will get free sets of books.
In the effort to strengthen and promote the meaning of books, and nurture tradition and genuine values, by this campaign, Si&Si Group once again confirmed itself as a socially responsible company in Serbia, which cares not only about children’s health, but also about their spiritual progress.
